About the OT
Hello~
My name is Megan.
I am an Occupational Therapist with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Hons) from The University of Queensland (2018).
Your situation and needs are unique, so your supports should be too. We work together to understand your needs holistically with a focus on your values and the activities you find meaningful.
During my studies and work, I quickly connected with supporting neurodivergent people and their families. As a neurodivergent OT, I’m enthusiastic about supporting neurodivergent people in their journeys towards self-discovery and meaningful engagement in their lives.
My passion for supporting people with hypermobility conditions started from my own journey. I understand the struggles of finding answers and the right support for an under-recognised condition.
Some things I enjoy:
Dogs! I have two dogs that you are likely to see sleeping in the background of telehealth sessions. If you also have pets, I’d love to meet them.
Gardening and nature.
RPG videogames.
Therapy approaches
OT models, frameworks and approaches are usually blended together and adapted to best fit unique individual needs and situations. Some of the modalities used are:
Neurodiversity affirming and Strengths-based Approach
Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT)
The Interoception Curriculum
Winnie Dunn’s Model of Sensory Processing and Sensory Modulation
Occupational Therapy models such as The Person-Environment-Occupation (PEO) Model and The Kawa Model
Cognitive Orientation to Occupational Performance (CO-OP) Approach
